James Filipek Post Card to John Sokolik - December 3, 1918
Above is a postcard of the Place de la Carrier in Nancy, France, a temporary residence of King Stanislas Leszczynski, later to become Duke of Lorraine in the mid-1750s.

The postcard was sent by my grandfather, James A. Filipek while he was in the Army of Occupation after WWI to his cousin John K. Sokolik.

Greetings,

Do not know when Uncle Sam will let me go home. Have had many interesting experiences + altho Europe is a fine country, never less I certainly am longing for the good old U. S. A. Hope this will reach you to wish you all a very happy New Year.
