Pike's Peak is about 20 miles west of Colorado Springs. This picture appears to be a color photograph.

Today there is a cog railway which leaves Manitou Springs about 10 miles west of Colorado Springs. The photo above could well be the original cog railway bringing tourists to the top for a view of Denver to the north 75 miles away.
