- There are two data extraction records in the above extraction. The top one was found in a September 2005 Ancestry search of Dutch Immigrants.
- The second extraction is from the actual National Archive's Immigration Ship Manifest microfilm obtained in February 2006. Key scans from this manifest are shown below.
- The manifest tracks with what the family recalls about this family's arrival. That is Peter went back for his parents and four siblings, Jannetje, Cornelius, Matthijs jr. and Jan. Though the spelling of the name for who is thought to be Cornelius doesn't match very well, although the age is perfect.

- Matthijs Vanderkloot was born 8 January 1827 and was 59 years old as stated on the date of arrival of 22 March 1886. Ages as we believe they should have been at the time are in brackets and they are either perfect or only off slightly.
- At the time of their arrival the base of the Statue of Liberty would just be nearing completion, but the statue assembly would not have begun though it was complete by October 1886.
- After arriving in New York at Castle Garden, the family would have boarded a ferry to New Jersey and then took a train to Chicago.
