The June 4, 1977 letter from E. Th. R. Unger on behalf of the Rijksarchivaris in Noord-Holland provided a copy of the Birth Record and extracted and provided the following information in English:
 
"Jan van der Kloot (December 10, 1873) and Jacob van der Kloot (September 25, 1876), children of Matthijs van der Kloot, blacksmith by trade, and Trijntje Smit, living in De Cocksdorp (Texel)."

A January 19, 1978 letter from the Gemeente Secretarie van Texel provided the following information from the Population Registers for the Vanderkloots:
  • Matthijs van der Kloot born on January 8, 1827 at Middelharnis, his religion was Reformed, his profession as black smith; he was married with
  • Trijntje Smit born on May 21, 1832 at Oude Sluis.
    • Adrianus born April 16, 1852 at Texel. He left for Anna Paulowna on July 13, 1877.
    • Klaas van der Kloot born on February 5, 1854 at Texel. He left for Brouwershaven on April 28, 1876.
    • Marinus van der Kloot born on April 10, 1855 at Texel. He left for Winkel on May 13, 1879.
    • Aagje van der Kloot born on February 22, 1857 at Texel.
    • Pieter van der Kloot born on April 1, 1860 at Texel.
    • Maatje van der Kloot born on February 13, 1862 at Texel.
    • Matthijs van der Kloot born on July 21, 1863 at Texel.
    • Maria van der Kloot born on December 5, 1865 at Texel, she died January 8, 1869 at Texel.
    • Jannetje van der Kloot born on August 10, 1868 at Texel.
    • Cornelius van der Kloot born on December 3, 1870 at Texel.
    • Jan van der Kloot born on December 10, 1873 at Texel.
    • Jacob van der Kloot born on September 25, 1876 at Texel. He died December 5, 1876.
  • They were all reformed.

Tombstone Comments
  • The Matthijs and Tryntje Vanderloot family plot is at the Oakwoods Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. The Oakwoods Cemetery is between 67th and 71st Streets and Cottage Grove on the South Side of Chicago.
  • There are three roughly identical granite gravestones about 2 foot wide, 18 inches deep and about 1 foot high each all in a row. On top of each respectively is written: MOTHER, SON, FATHER. On the polished front face is written the words transcribed above.
  • John their son died about age 36. He never married and regularly was shown in the Chicago Directory as living in the same home as his parents.
  • There is a picture of the tombstones in the Matthijs and Trijntje Picture Collection.
  • The Vanderkloot Cemetery Plot B-4-532 is fairly large at 17 foot 2 inches by 12 foot 1 inch. The plot is owned by Matthew A. and Peter Vanderkloot, sons of Matthijs and Trijntje Vanderkloot. Matthijs (1827-1905), (Trijntje 1832-1915) and son John (1873-1910) are buried in this plot. Also in the same plot are: Peter and Bertha (nee Dros) Vanderkloot, Trijntje (infant daughter of Peter and Bertha), infant Taylor (daughter of Harry and Corinne Taylor), and a child named Mary Kooger.
  • Besides the gravestone for Matthijs, Trijntje, and John, there is also a gravestone for Peter 1860-1939 and Bertha 1867-1944.
  • Nearby the plot is another gravestone for Marinus (1855-1941) and Mary (nee Boom) (1859-1941).
