Knut Oscar Scholdberg was left in a New York Hospital when the ship he was crew with left him in New York on January 25, 1869 as he was too ill to travel back to London. It is possible he sent to the Small Pox Hospital on Roosevelt Island (today's Governor Island) for quarantine. The records for the Small Pox Hospital can be found in the Family History Library.
