The focus of Our Gainowski Family web pages is the genealogy and history of Joseph and Rosa Gainowski of West Prussia, their children, and their children's children. The family name Gainowski is pronounced as Geinofskee.

At the head of our clan is Joseph Gainowski, born about 1845 in West Prussia. He married Rosalia Wogervodka and they had at least seven children. Joseph and Rosalia and several of their children emigrated to Chicago in the late 1880s.

There are a number of spelling variations of the Gainowski name and in fact you can see one such variation on their St. Mary's Tombstone above and that is Geinowsky.
