Family Chart Notes
  1. Clicking individual names under the Parent's/Children's column transfers to that individual's Family Chart.
  2. Three variants have now been seen on Robert’s middle name: Melvin, Melville, and Melbourne. It is not clear if he changed it or if there were misunderstandings when it was written.
  3. Jemima appears as a widow and head of her own household in the March 30, 1851 Census with two younger daughters and without Robert. She is in a separate household but the same address as Robert’s younger brother Joseph Steward who now has his own household. Thus it appears that within 5 years of the marriage, and less than 4 months after this baptism that Robert had died.
  1. In the 1851 Census for Jemima Steward, daughter Jemima is shown but not Louisa. Instead there is a two year old Susan. Based on the 1861 Census, it appears that Susan is actually Louisa.
  2. In the 1861 Census, there is a son named Henry Steward. Since Robert had died before 1850, it is likely Robert is with another father.
